SEONGSAN Sunrise Peak

The crater of Sunrise Peak consists of 99 rock peaks along its rim that look as if they are escorting the crater and forming a castle. For that reason, the basin was considered to be holy, and it was named "SEONGSAN" which literally means holy mountain. The view of the sunrise here is truly remarkable.

JEONGBANG Waterfall

With SEOPSEOM and BEOMSEOM Island in front, the JEONGBANG Waterfall is right at the edge of the ocean. The JEJU people believed that a holy dragon lived under the waterfall. It has been said that since the water has its spirit, it has cured illnesses and caused rain to fall during a drought. That’s why it was chosen as one of the scenic wonders of JEJU among other big waterfalls in JEJU.

OSULLOC Tea Museum

Located in the vast organic tea farm of Seogwang on Jeju Island, showcases the rich history of Korean tea within the beautiful scenery of the tea farm. The tallest mountain in Korea, Hallasan Mountain forms many clouds and fog, which then creates a natural shading effect and improves the color of the tea leaves.

Electricity

The electricity supply commonly used in Korea is the 220-volt 60Hz system. Because most newly built hotels and houses have 220-volt wiring installed, you are advised to check your electronic equipment beforehand.

Climate

The annual average temperature in JEJU Island is relatively low, compared with other places at the same latitude, due to cold winter seasons, an influence of continental climates, and summers that do not become too hot due to cool oceanic currents. The average annual temperatures of JEJU are reported to be 15.5℃ and 25℃ of June’s average temperatures.

Currency

The Korean local currency is the Won. Major foreign currencies can be exchanged at banks, hotels, and the airport. Most hotels, restaurants, and shops accept major international credit cards including Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Master Card, and JBC. Foreign-issued ATM cards may have limited use.
